Position Summary Information

Nature of Work

The College of Education at Armstrong State University invites applicants for a non-tenure track position as lecturer, beginning August 2017, pending budget approval.

Essential Duties

Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses in general education and/or secondary education, with a math emphasis.

Collaborative work with local school districts.

Participates in service to the Department, College, University, and the greater educational community.

Collaborates with other members of the department and the College to assist and support the department and the Dean of the College in working to achieve the goals of the college.

Promotes positive and productive interpersonal relationships in the department, the college, the university, and the community.

Other duties as assigned (including advising students and committee work).

Minimum Qualifications and Training

Earned Doctorate in education from an accredited institution.

Evidence of ability to work with school-based personnel.

Experience in professional collaborations.

Experience with or commitment to the use of technology.

Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.

Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion

Values excellence and personal integrity

Preferred Qualifications and Training

Minimum of 2 years P-12 classroom experience.

Prior university teaching experience.

Experience with CAEP or state accreditation process.

Areas of expertise and qualifications to also teach in the following area: math

Prior experience with school-university partnerships.
