Position Summary Information

Nature of Work

This is a student employment position providing in-depth assistance and support to the Alumni Center. The student will also provide support to the Assistant Vice President for Development and assist with donor relations.

Essential Duties

To provide general office and event support. Job responsibilities include acting as a receptionist for the office by greeting and assisting guests and handling incoming telephone calls. The position also provides telephone outreach to alumni regarding upcoming events and assists with maintaining RSVPs for upcoming programs. The Student Assistant maintains inventory records for alumni merchandise, prepares materials for events, assists at events, prepares mailings, makes copies, orders supplies, updates general contact records, performs basic research into university and alumni history, and maintains office files.

Minimum Qualifications and Training

Must be enrolled at Armstrong State University.
Maintain a “B” average.

Ability to organize and prepare materials and/or reports.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Ability to work effectively with little oversight or direction.
