Position Summary Information

Nature of Work

The research assistant conducts historical research for the project, does archaeological fieldwork and lab work, coordinates other student volunteers in the lab, rehabilitates Armstrong’s neglected 1980s-era archaeological collections, provides logistics (such as interfacing with local Visitors Centers to distribute flyers and educate about our smartphone app), and acts as a liaison to the Anthropology Club, which encourages students to participate in these extra curricular activities.

Essential Duties

Crew chief for archaeology digs, research skills, organizational skills

Minimum Qualifications and Training

Must have strong reading skills, strong writing skills. Must be currently enrolled at Armstrong.


Position starts Spring 2018 semester.

Preferred Qualifications and Training

Prefer student with major in history or related discipline and experience in archaeology.
