Position Summary Information

Nature of Work

Work-Study Student Assistants work in a variety of positions across campus.
Departments have varying job descriptions for student employees. Some tasks often
include providing customer service to office visitors, staff, and faculty; running errands
on campus, tutoring, lab assistance, and performing clerical tasks. Other projects and
tasks as assigned by supervisor/department.

Essential Duties

Filing all current student documents, facilitate in the copying and distributing of forms
as necessary, scanning and indexing documents into BDM, and assisting in other
departmental activities.

Minimum Qualifications and Training

Must have a work study award. Must have good telephone communication skills and
customer service experience also required. Good computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Training

Effective communication (verbal and written), organization, and human relations
skills; proficient with Microsoft Applications software, including spreadsheets,
database and word processing; successful completion of background investigation
prior to employment; ability to work with diverse populations.
