Position Summary Information

Nature of Work

ITS Student Workers assist ITS with delivering and maintaining computer related technology for the benefit of Armstrong’s students, faculty, and staff.

Essential Duties

Provide support for issues requiring on site campus visits (e.g., printer access configuration, network connectivity troubleshooting, and hardware troubleshooting.)

Additional duties may include, but are not limited to, software configuration, equipment delivery, surplus processing and clerical tasks.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment, while keeping customer service a primary focus.

Ability to multitask and work independently while performing assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications and Training

Must be enrolled at Armstrong State University at time of employment and each semester thereafter.

Knowledge of personal computers (Windows 7 & 10 Operating Systems; Microsoft Office Suite)

Familiarity with Macintosh computers or ability to learn Mac OS functionality.

Experience with diagnosing / troubleshooting computer related problems.

Ability to lift computers and peripherals as required.

Ability to setup/breakdown computers (internal and external components) including, but not limited to miscellaneous peripherals (printers, scanners, card readers, web cams, etc.), hard drives, graphics cards, network cards, etc.

Ability to multitask; detail oriented with strong organizational skills and professional demeanor.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work up to 19 hours per week between 7:30am and 8:00pm during the week; possible weekend hours depending on current projects.

Ability to work independently after acquiring specific skills and assignments.

Preferred Qualifications and Training

Expertise with PC computers, Windows 7 & 10 OS

Expertise with Mac OS

Ability to understand and articulate/create process documentation
